Any Moment Now

prompt: any moment now/a rhyming poem
August 1, 2021

Any moment now, I will remember how
to know that I am always now.
Any moment now, I will discover how
I can unfold myself and grow.
Any moment now, a new friend could come
into my life and brighten my days.
Any moment now, I will see more and more
people leave behind their old-fashioned ways.
Any moment now, I will respond to the
promptings to imagine what lies beyond the veil.
Any moment now, love will unfold my sail
that takes me over oceans and subtle waves beyond the pale.
The sparks of light open yearning and insight
tto relieve the usual condition of blight.
I wait to be taken up in a kite
and fly over the land, and I might
be seeing a new awakening rising below and within,
and be reminded of all the pretty places I have been.
Any moment now, it will come to pass
that a new way to live with each other
and to flow and frolic together in the grass
will come, but alas, we must escape from the mass
of the society that has become so crass,
so that every lad, and every lass
can rise up and achieve some class.
Any moment now, the tide will start to rise
and the right words will come that allow
me to end this poem in the right way
but I guess they aren't going to come now.
Oh well, have a nice day, everybody. Best wishes,
and lots of great moments now!
