Click Here To Close This Window

My hands reached up to click to close the window, because it led me to a right-wing spiel, or should I say screed. Did I want to read the same old crap I already know is wrong? Or did I want to pretend to be open-minded? Or maybe I could reply to the guy who posted the link in the middle of his right-wing screed, and wait for him to fail to reply in a cogent way, and to just post another right-wing screed. This is called "communication" in today's digital world.

So, I closed the window, and closed the computer, and I wondered, do I have a closed mind too? Or am I so open that I have learned enough to know that the thoughts emanating from closed, right-wing minds are too closed off from reality?

So I opened the window again, and read the right-wing screed, and it challenged me to do some research to refute it, so I could refute my right-wing friend. And I learned some new facts and new reasons why he was wrong, and why I am right; except I am right in some new ways, and was wrong in some ways, because I learned some new facts. And I learned a little bit of patience toward my right-wing friend, and maybe a little more about communication. But not much. Maybe I need to close this window now, because this conversation may never end, and go open another window. Something to open me up more to more interesting things.
